Album Review: Legendary Christmas

By Emma Gibson
Staff Reporter

“A Legendary Christmas” is a studio album made by John Legend. The new Christmas album is his sixth studio album and his first Christmas album, and the album was released on Oct. 26. Throughout his album, there are featured artists such as Esperanza Spalding and the famous Stevie Wonder.

My favorite songs were Silver Bells and Purple Snowflakes. I liked Silver bells because it is such a classic, but Legend put his own spin on the song; rather than the song being slow, he pushes the tempo and makes it more of a jazz type of song. Purple Snowflakes was my personal favorite because it’s easy to listen to and has a steady jazzy beat throughout the song.

I’m not a huge fan of John Legend, but I like this Christmas album and I would recommend it to people who like jazz music with mellow beats.
