Video Game review: Detroit: Become human

By Jakob Ronimous
Staff Reporter

“Detroit: Become Human” was released on May 25, 2018 by Quantic Dream for the PlayStation 4. It’s a story-driven game where the player takes the place of three characters with their own diverging stories.

This game takes place in 2038 where human-like androids are common and have jobs, but are treated as mere machines.

As I started the action-packed scenes, I was surprised to see the other main mechanic was quick time events, and I had to press certain buttons quickly, which made me feel immersed. I feel like the enjoyment of the game mostly comes from your choices. I liked that my decisions had greater effects and the quick time events had me on the edge of my seat.

This game has a great story that gives us a look at what the future of advanced technology could be.
